I’ve thought about starting a blog for a while, and while I can think of lots of things I’d like to write about, I’ve been stumped with how to write my first post. I’d rather just jump right in and start. But I guess introductions are in order.

I’m an Australian Christian woman in her fifties, who has always enjoyed studying the Bible and wrestling with how it applies to my life. My relationship with God is the most important relationship in my life – it defines everything about me – and I want to apply all that I am to living that relationship fully: my mind, my emotions, my imagination, my body. I love discussing a tricky theological issue, but it’s so I can live out my faith better not just as an intellectual exercise.

I love stories and pictures – they help me understand God better – and often God will teach me about himself through a story. I love sitting in the parables for this reason. I can’t believe how God can continue to show me new things through incredibly familiar parables like the prodigal son, that I have been thinking about since I was a child. I expect that much of what I write in this blog will be little insights that God has given me that have blessed me, and might bless someone else.

Hi, I'm Chris!

I'm an Australian Christian author, blogger and speaker who has published one book - Diamonds from the King - which is a book of stories from my life of ways that God has worked to bring precious diamonds from suffering, disappointment and confusion.

I'm a mum, granny and wife and I love spending time with my grown kids and my four and counting grandkids, but my greatest passion is to get to know God better, and to share his wonder with the world.
